2014 C7 A6 Torque Converter
I brought my 2014 Stingray (with A6) in for service. At about 70K miles it has developed what feels like a shudder or misfire at highway cruising speeds, occurring several times per hour. After 2 days at the dealership (and using their diagnostics), they determined this new development, which was never previously present, is “normal”, and produced a TSB to substantiate their position. Everything I have read or heard points to torque converter. Their price for TC replacement is 3K. This is an evident issue in newer models, identified elsewhere in this forum. Of course, my confidence is low in their ability to conduct the repair, since they have already documented the shudder as “normal”. They have no other resolution for the issue.

Is the car still under a ext warr. If so get on the web & look for the biggest corvette dealership close to you & take the car to them. Yes that dealer will see the other dealers remarks but I have done the same on my c5 & got the bigger dealership to get my done under the warr.

Update:
Mtn View Chevrolet asked me to bring the car back after I spoke with the Chevrolet Service Rep. For “a second look”. They have determined they will replace the Torque Converter. Hopefully operating it in the meantime has not damaged the transmission. Still will pursue compensation for what they charged me on the initial visit (because they couldn’t find anything wrong) where they alternately determined it was the tires (their transmission specialist), or it was normal (shop foreman).

Torque Converter replaced...
I was texted on Monday 8/13/18 and advised of the decision to replace the TC, and the part was being ordered. On Wednesday 8/15/18 I was texted and advised the TC had been replaced, the car had been road tested, and was ready for delivery. Michelin AS3+ tires being put on this evening, then a road test at speed.

The # 1 dealer and service for Corvettes in Oklahoma is Landers Chevrolet in Norman, they made the top 50 Corvette's sold list in the US.. I have only shopped there and have no idea on how the service is but it would be worth the drive to talk with the service manager and a tech...
If it wasn't a 4 hour drive I would tell you to bring it to Classic Chevrolet here in Lawton, they take care of me every time I go in... david stanley chevrolet in OKC has also taken care of my son's car very well...

What is the issue? Driving at highway speed and then getting caught in bumper to bumper traffic and the car overheats? Something different?

C7 overhearing in traffic or...
Driven at highway speeds, then bumper to bumper traffic, due to construction/ accidents, etc. Although, in town after a short trip it started overheating out of nowhere...

Your radiator system may have gotten a little low and now have a air pocket in the lines. SO pull the filler cap off the car where you put in the water let the car get up to temp with the A/C also tune on. YOU THEN should then SEE the water to start to mover thur the system THEN fill it up and this should get the air pocket out of the system with the cap open.. Robert
