Swaping tunes between cars? 2015 base to 2016 z51
Hello,
I have a 2016 m7 z51 and I just put a procharger onto it. I have a few rough idle issues that match the same issues from another forum member who had his fixed via a tune from procharger.
His car is a 2015 m7 base.
He has sent me the tune, would there be any issues caused from loading a '2015 non z51' into a '2016 z51' for testing? Obviously I will get an offical tune from Procharger on Monday but I am eager to see if the tune is the core of my issue.

YOU NEED to have some understanding of the software and hardware and the differences between the 2 cars so that you don’t cause issues. (Like differences in axle ratio, etc)

Don’t do that, instead, copy and paste over the tables that are relevant and go from there. Do not write the entire tune over yours. You can simply open both tune files and use the compare feature to spot all the differences.

What is a good software to do this with? I assume there is a .grg application?

I prefer HP Tuners sortware, but EFI Live will work. If your buying new, HP for sure. Visit the HP tuner forums (GM gen 5 section) and you can download the sortware for a sort of test drive. You’ll need to purchase the interface and have credits for the vehicles.

Hmm, not sure its worth spending money to test 1 day sooner (Procharger will be open tomorrow)
I was hoping for a 5 minute quick check...

Unless you already have the software, you’re not doing anything in 5 mins....it would take that long for the software to read read the tune
