or took the headers off before he brought it to the dealer
Or this …. but I am not a big fan of this one . if you put he headers on , then it blew up …..that was the chance you took ….
But … to hear horror stores of folks putting a CAI on and the dealer stating that the warranty is void then that is just a crock of ……
Believe me , I am the first one to want to mod my car … and the bug is getting to hard to resist , so when I do ….I will put the headers , CAI and a tune on it ,enjoy the heck out of my 11 second car and keep $14,000 around in case I grenade it …..
I will also use a Diablo to street tune it because I want the option to return it back to stock and not have to worry about some guy going out of business in 2 years
From what i understand it is cause diablo modifys the stock tune where is in all others write a tune.
I doubt it. While that's possible, one would have to assume the flash chip or the software itself checks at some point to ensure that the tune actually matches the CVN (Calibration Validation Number), and it wouldn't match. That's what the CVN is for. If the TechII (or whatever) didn't check that out before submitting the CVN history report I'd be very surprised!

Dave , while I would tend to agree with you, both Mike and Diablo Lew state that it does not change the CVN , now remember they are not saying that their custom and canned tunes cannot be detected , I am sure if GM wanted to compare the many lines in the tables against what a stock tune value should be they could do it
What Diablo's claim is when you restore your factory tune to the ECM , this is what cannot be detected as this is the tune that matches the orginal CVN . A TECH ll or in the case of a C7 , the MDI device only acts as a pass through to the software that is used to upload the tune to GM so no error checking is done by these two tools
I don't know exactly how Diablo does it, but what I can verify is the statements I made about my C6 and my buddies C7 where we sent the restored tunes up to be verified ....and we also can't forget how many of these devices have been sold to folks that don't want to void their warranty , It would be all over the internet if someone got denied that used a diablo. I only know of one guy who did with a Charger , but he walked in and admitted that he had a tune ....
Dave
CVNs simply do not change in any way with our flashes, hence there is no way for them to determine it has been flashed with our stuff.
Why no guarantee?
Easy...we can't keep you from going and flashing with one of our competitors products and causing a cvn issue, which would have nothing to do with our device. We simply dont have any control over what you or someone else plugs into your OBDII port.
As such, the best I can offer is that it will not be an issue, and the choice is up to each user.

Will there be a compatible device from you for the 2019 ZR1?
