Found this article and wanted to know if anyone out there has had this done by the dealer? If so what can you tell me about it? Is it worth it? Or is it should I pass?
Are people getting better results from the DSC V3, aftermarket product?
That might be a hard answer to find. Not many who have the DSC will install the GM Update and most that have installed the GM Update will not spend more to get the DSC. Not many back to back comparisons if any. I have the GM MRC update and find it acceptable for what I do on track.

Have you noticed a difference on track, or have you always had the updated calibration? I am considering selling my DSC as I have yet to see an improvement on track and on the street it is too soft and I don't have the time, motivation, nor expertise to spend hours trying to fine tune it.
Edit: well, i guess you could still answer but GM update doesn't apply to my z51 on track sadly. But it would make the car better in tour and sport.

What generation is your DSC? I may be interested in buying it from you.
I had the DSC controller and sold mine, and had the GM update performed. With the DSC, I went through 2 controllers that gave me "service suspension" errors. That was during the time DSC discovered an issue with the units.
DSC was very supportive. They sent me out a couple of controllers, the last being the V3. The downside, I have large hands and I was beginning to get a bit fed up with taking the controllers in and out.....
I haven't had a chance to run the GM update on the track. However, in my car it won't be any different mapping than I had before the update as I have a Z51 package and the track map doesn't change. I really liked the DSC on the track. I wish I was more of a techy to be able to understand the settings and make changes etc, but that is all above my 60 y.o. mindset. That is the only reason I removed the DSC and sold it. I couldn't keep up.
ON the street the update felt very similar to the DSC. I have a rather bumpy road I travel on daily. That road really sucked on the stock module. When I installed the DSC that road became a dream. You could barely feel the bumps ( I drive in sport mode). Same with the new GM update, I can barely feel the bumps. So, for street driving I really found no seat of the pants difference between the two.
All this being said, I have been readdressing my alignment for a track event on the first of Sept. using Mike Levita's alignment specs. It is making me consider getting another controller...... On track, the DSC really allowed me to put the power down with no upsets. The first track experience with the stock car, I'd over steer in a bunch of the corners (had a dealer do the GM track alignment, they even borrowed the rear caster tool from GM).. With the DSC, same track (a year later, I did my own alignment with AMT plates), even with messed up toe (my fault) the car went where I pointed it with no over steer. I really dropped my lap times, got down to the times I consistently ran with my track bike.
