Default Am I the only one who noticed huge brake power loss with Power Stop Z26?

Wow, huge difference. Sometimes, I think the brakes aren't even working There's a huge difference in bite and friction between OEM and these I'm not sure it's worth pressure washing the wheels every few days.

I'm gonna try scotch bright on the rotors this weekend and bedding them again to see what happens but so far, not a fan. I think I would have gone for the Carbotech (despite being $300 more) over these.

I did Z26 pads and the new revised Z51 rotors together and have experience no loss in stopping power other than that 1st cold brake application of the day.

I have no perceived loss of braking performance (street driving) on my GS. I just swapped the pads, didn't touch the rotors. Didn't do any "bedding" procedure either.

Are you talking about street driving?

Not trying to be a smartass, but have you tried pushing harder on the brake pedal ?

The initial bite is notably less on my car after Z26 installation but there is no braking ability loss. Push harder !

That was my findings too. I'll give up the initial bite for way less dust on the wheels.

When I change between pads I sometimes get a buttery feel for the first few miles.. that's not what you're getting is it?

I know what you mean. They have no bite. It is a known fact they don't stop as well as stock or track pads. They are only good for reducing dust and that is the only reason I tried them for daily driving, but now I am happy to go back to cleaning dust and having brakes that stop.

I have no noticeable loss of braking power with powerstops on the street. I had carbotech and definitely experienced brake fade during spirited street driving.

The guys at GM are smart no? Stock stuff is all you need unless youre a track rat.
Spending on a pad that sucks just so theres less dust makes no sense to me?

I noticed a huge loss too but I don’t have a lot of miles on them yet. I tried some hard braking to see if bedding them would help at all. Seemed a bit better but not much. I do love how little dust they produce.

no change. Maybe you put them on upside down.

They seemed fine to me, after I did the bedding process.

except...its not like that. Stock pads try to be all things to all people and the result is a ton of dust.

These are fine, unless you track the car. If you run into brake fade on the street you are probably getting ready for jail anyway, lol.

I've had them on my '18 GS for 3 weeks. Bedded them and see no reduction in stopping power on the street. I have no plans to go on the track.

No noticeable difference in stopping power to me, at least for street use. Brakes on this car with Z26 pads are fantastic.

My Z23 which are actually the same material are fine. Work great on the street and very, very little dust.

The pads stop every bit or better than the stock pads but complaints are put up in an effort to discredit them to sell other brands of pads that carry a heavy Corvette tax!
Power stops are great!
