Default Procharged C7 Stingray loosing boost

Hey guys I’m new to this, but wanted to see if I am able to get a better input on this, I have a C7 stingray ECS 1500 procharger on it, built engine ported heads meth, and all car made 771hp and doing 13.7 to 14 pounds of boost. Now I have the intercooler changed to a much bigger one, and I am running in to the issue of the car only boosting 9 pounds... checked for boost leak and nothing can’t figure out what it is and the car feels a little slower like a lost a lot of power. Anyone can help me out on this. Thank you all.

Sounds like massive intercooler pressure drop.

wha can be done to corrected? A lot of people said it mit be that the intercooler is wtoo big for the procharger. And others that it should change anything since your just making the temperature better..

If it truly is pressuee drop from the intercooler, all you can do is change pullies to spin the blower faster to get your target boost back.

I thought about going to a 2200 procharger since mine is a 1500, and maybe it could compensate for the lost of boost ? And thanks again for all the info.

Bigger isn't always better. The ECS cores are actually really good cores and don't have an issue until 1000+. If you swapped on a cheap china core, it probably is killing power even if it is bigger.

first of all. You don't have a Procharger, please stop using that word, it will confuse people trying to help you. ATI / Procharger is just a brand of centrifugal style superchargers, just like Vortech and Paxton. You have an ECS kit that uses a Paxton supercharger. What kind of intercooler did you go with and why did you change it?

thanks for the clarification.. now the intercooler was custome built by a shop down here in Miami. And I wanted to go bigger to to the ATI were very high, now went to a standing up and much bigger intercooler and went from having 13.7 pounds of boost to 9 pounds. Have you checked to make sure your belt hasn't stretched and you are getting slippage?

Yeah I wonder if this is just coincidental. That was the problem with my Procharger and I looked everywhere else first.

Adjust the belt, the intercooler would not make a difference like that. Both intercoolers can out flow the 1500.

Yeah I constantly get people saying "Look he's got a Procharger under the hood!" So I politely explain to them the difference and that it is indeed, not a Procharger haha.
