Does anyone else have a problem with there radio that sometimes when you first start you car the XM Radio channel doesn't work. If you shut the car off for awhile the XM Radio will start to work. I have asked the dealer and they have no idea. Any help would be appreciated.
Does it only "not work" when in a garage / parked between buildings? I had XM in a Jetta years ago that unless it had a CLEAR view of the sky - it would NOT have a signal... started in garage, no signal, backed out, no signal, started to drive down driveway, signal and tunes started...
Concur with above answer regarding XM not functioning in the garage (or anytime the signal is blocked). In addition, XM periodically does an over the air update - I've noticed our 2018 Fusion doing this about 3 or 4 times - Can be very short (15 seconds) or one time was quite lengthy (about 10 minutes or so). I have not seen the 2016 Corvette do this, however, I would not be surprised.
XM will drop out occasionally, remember it’s getting the signal from a satellite so anything from trees, buildings or overpasses can temporarily stop the music. If the signal is truly blocked it will say so on the display. If the connection or the antenna itself is bad you get a different message displayed. My C7 had the “check XM antenna” issue so I replaced it and now it works, but suffers from drop outs due the place I hide the antenna. I’m sure once I relocate it things will be fine.
