Can anyone explain why my universal remote control for my garage door sometimes works and sometimes doesn't.... I have reprogrammed it 3 times as per the instruction... The issue I am having is that it seems I have to wait 3-5 minutes between each use of the remote... basically, if I use it to open the garage door... and then drive out of my garage, I have to wait 3-5 minutes before the remote will close the door... this happens even if I use the wall button in my garage to open the door....same in reverse... but the really weird thing is that every once in a while, this does not occur and the remote works as it should...
What brand is the actual door opener ? And what brand is the remote ?
Its a Chamberlain Liftmaster Professional.... Probably 12 years old now.... No issues with the opener or any of the aftermarket remotes that I have programed in the past... For some reason I ONLY have this issue with the GM Universal Remote on the drivers visor...
Did you call the phone number listed for help ?
Outside of Google search or the phone number I wish I could do more to help.
It has to be something simple, seems it always is.
Best,
Has it ever worked properly?
Anything change recently which may cause interference?
How old is your car battery? (only asking as that seems to be a default question on this forum when electronics start acting up)
Could the connection in the visor be loose?

I have only had the car a week... It works as it should for a day maybe two after programming... Car battery is way good... no issues with that at all... I do not know how or where to look for the connection to the visor..
some info I found on the internet says that it could have to do with my opener having a "rolling" code... which as I understand it is that the opener and the remotes change codes automatically with each open and close....

Rolling code should not cause t as long as you hit the learn button on the opener during the last steps.
Not sure on the connection for the visor, but know it is there because of people who added the homelink visor to cars without it. Connection was existing.
If you're using LED bulbs it's quite possible that they are interfering with the radio frequency of the opener. I had the exact same problem when I installed them in my garage and they were lit.
