Shift indicator does not work
I am hoping someone can help with my C7 issue.
Today I inadvertently put my phone next to the manual gear shift level on the right side of the lever such that it interfered with a shift from 6th to 7th.
At interstate speed of 75MPH I went to move from 6th to 7th speed.
After the attempt to shift I thought I was in 7th, but it never got into gear, the shift level just struck my phone hard instead and never went into gear. I let the clutch out and gave it gas and the un-engaged engine went to the rev-limiter right away as it was not in any gear. I realized what I had done, so I moved the phone and put it into 7th. It went in fine.
However, after that the gear indicator no longer functions and it does not now show what gear the car is in.
Can anyone help with this issue or give advice before I tear into the shift mechanism and see if I can find the issue.
