cant wait to get the xpipe on in a week and complete the trifecta
I have the Vararam and just the X-pipe from AWE with a Mild 2 Wild and love the combo...nice sound and better throttle response with no tune or supposed warranty voids....not sure on the tb/tc thing as far as warranty goes for me...I'm leaving well enough alone for now on this. I have heard recently that our lovely government has halted further production on the AWE X pipe with the pup cat delete just as they did for the past highly sought after Borla set up...I am glad I bought mine when I did! Best of luck! I have owned several "purchased new " vehicles and have always added a CAI to every one of them including all of my gas burner trucks and never have had an issue with any of them ever throwing a code or needing a tune or having rich or lean issues.

thanks Ed, yeah I am very happy and I’ll tell you the solar stuff is incredible as well.

couple questions

1 on the vararam I’m getting a little whistle on the suck in the low rpm band and not full throttle, do you have the same or did we install with the opening not wide enough? I could fit two fingers in like in the video but was curious.

2 tell me more on this mild to wild thing, I’ve read about it before but would appreciate more insight. Does it work like the npp or does it open the valves that don’t open till like 2k rpms?

many thanks!

JP, I do not hear the little whistle you are describing...however my hearing at this point in my life leaves out a lot of high pitched sounds. My install also was per the two fingers thing...I only hear a low pitched "whoom" kind of sound when I step on the throttle hard which is what I have heard in the past on other vehicles of which I have installed a CAI on. This brand of CAI (Vararam) was recommended by several here on the forum for my Vette. All my other vehicles have had K and N products installed since I was young (along time ago). My Jeep has the K and N on it at present and it sounds the same to me..."whoom" is the best way I can describe it... The Mild to Wild has been talked about here on the forum frequently as well. It allows me to keep things quiet or let things be wide open at the touch of one of my buttons on the home link at the drivers visor or from a key fob. regardless of RPMs...or manual or automatic mode. For quiet, I set my exhaust program to stealth mode...and for all open it's in track mode. The switch replaces the fuse for the NPP which allows the switch to remotely allow the NPP valves to stay completely open at all times or completely shut at all times...and relocates the same fuse in line elsewhere... thus stealth or track sound...so when cruising the highway with the wife or for a lengthy trip I can quiet the exhaust to an almost not heard tone..and when I feel aggressive in town or on a windy country road I can open it up and really hear the deep muscle car style sound that the AWE X pipe creates, this is especially noticed when I use the paddle shifters in pedal to the metal acceleration or with the paddles when downshifting with a some really pleasant "pops" and "gurgles" of which some here like to tune out and claim that the pops are from non-burnt fuel...not that their claims are incorrect...I like the sound, period..and would be concerned if it were "really loud pops"...Just an FYI, if you do not have the NPP option, in my opinion the Mild 2 Wild would be worthless...hope this helps. Dave Casole here on the forum is very knowledgeable on this subject and many other technical issues with tunes, headers, t/b's etc... etc.. he has been my mentor through things discussed here with you...he actually helped me install my CIA and the Mild 2 Wild...not that I am personally offering his advice...just backing up the knowledge and opinions he shares frequently here on the forum. Hope this all helps!

Thanks Ed !! Was fun working on your car and I cant wait till the track opens up

Jipper as per our PM what you are hearing is normal
Remember the intake is now un silenced and the slight whistle is there even with a stock intake but at a much lower volume

As I told you I even put my stock intake back on just to verify , it's still there but its extremely muffled and if u did not know what to listen for you would never hear it
