My 2016 Z06 has had issues with Apple Car Play since day 1. Different phone, different cord - makes no difference.

Sometimes it doesn't recognize my phone.

The most aggravating is when it works fine on one call. Hang up and make another call and I can hear the other party but they can't hear me. Have to reboot my phone.

I can't figure out a pattern.

I have turned off bluetooth - same issue.

Dealer is telling me things like this:

What I’m hearing from my shop foreman is GM says your phone needs to be tethered and Bluetooth turned off for it to work appropriately

GM also says you should delete your phone from your vehicle and your vehicle from your phone once a week so that it does a hard reset

Once a week -you kidding me? Number one you don't delete your phone from the vehicle as far as I can tell. You can go into your phone and delete the vehicle. Tried that - no go.

Same cord, and phone works fine my 2018 Cadillac CTS-V, 2018 Escalade and every rental car I get.

Gotta be a software bug in the 2016.

I use the USB port in the console. I even tried the one in the hidden compartment - no change.


2016 only issue?

Is there a software update?

I tried apple car play on my 2016, iPhone 7 tethered in console and right in the middle of a drive it just quit. No music. Nothing. It seems finicky at best. So I just use the blue tooth connection.

Good to hear.

Maybe a softwate upgrade at the dealer will fix it.

Anybody know of there is a way to check the software level on the headubit, car play etc. ?

Dealer says they found some software updates that may address my issues. Car has never had any updates. Picking it up today - we will see.
