C7 SoCal ported intake
So I am hearing that porting your stock intake is more effective than most aftermarket cold air intakes?
Is there anyone that can recommend a shop in Southern California that does this work?

SoCal Porting does amazing work on LT1 throttle bodies, intake manifolds, and exhaust manifolds.

He charges $100 for LT1/4 throttle bodies, $399 for exhaust manifolds (+$100 for ceramic coating), and $300 for intake manifold.

I think you may have misunderstood a bit. You can port the intake manifold and throttle body, but there is nothing to port with the actual intake. An aftermarket intake (such as the AFE or K&N, for example) is a great addition to a ported throttle body and intake manifold though. They all work nicely in conjunction with one another to increase the efficiency and flow of your engine!
