Default C7 Z06/Z07 alignment help, please ?

Hello forum family,

my car has been out of alignment and I can’t seem to figure what’s going on. I took it to a local alignment shop but they did not resolve the issue.

i am using 295/35/19 Front Toyo r888r & 345/35/19 rear r888r.

The car car seems to be pulling around at higher speeds and unstable when turning.

the caster is off on the driver side and the alignment guy said it’s “non adjustable” but there is no way.

the car has never been in any accident nor had any damage wheels, curb rash or anything.

The car car drives straight and feels okay at lower speeds, but once above 70-100+ it feels like the front end jerks around

Going to try another alignment shop today. Any assistance ?

Yep, with major difference in caster, one tire will be "in front of" the other, causing it to want to turn and pull to one side.

Both front and rear casters are adjustable! I highly recommend you find a better mechanic/shop : )

You need to either find another alignment shop or do it yourself. The caster is adjustable front and rear.

Yeah, that place clearly has no idea what they are doing. There has to be a few local performance shops around you that can take care of this,

Do you mean loose lower control arm bolts? Corvettes haven't had trailing arms since the C4 model.

The LCA cam bolts are spec'd at 125 ft lbs and a lot of mechanics don't bother to put a torque wrench on them so don't get them tight enough.

No kidding. That could have been really ugly if that thing came off while driving.

Has the car ever been wrecked? I'm surprised that the toe link was loose. No way anybody could have done an alignment on that car with that loose.

yeah tell me about it. Nope never any wrecks ! I’ve never even curbed a wheel. The dealership did remove the trans once to change a gear inside because I complained about a rough second gear... still the same btw, but I’m guessing the dummy tech didn’t torque these bolts after being removed. Going to try to go over every bolt back there this week hopefully, and that’s almost 6 months ago or more. Maybe 7000 miles ago. I’m guessing they were slightly loose and just loosened up over time.

I'd make sure it tightens down and the hole isn't enlarged. It may have done some damage and if so I'd go back to the dealer. Good luck with getting it sorted out.

thank you, I have had it tightened and hit it with a paint marker to see if it moves. If it has been enlarged I’m going to replace it. Never going to the dealer again. They had damaged all my Akrapovic exhaust tips while all this happened initially and I got into a huge argument with the manager who was stating I brought the vehicle in like that.
