Hello everyone, I am a new member of the Corvette Forum and the proud new owner of a 2017 Corvette Stingray M7. I just bought the car and it has ~8,500 miles on it and I'm loving it so far. A few days after I bought it, I noticed an annoying squeak or chirp coming from the driver's side of the engine compartment or underneath the car. Almost sounds like it's coming from the exhaust manifold. It happens when I stab the throttle in neutral anywhere between 700 to about 1500 rpm. It also happens if I'm driving up a hill or something at low rpms and I give it a tiny bit of gas. I've spent days reading threads on here but I can't find one that describes the problem exactly like I hear it. Since this is my first Vette, I'm not sure if this is normal or not. Any insight would be helpful.
Do you have the NPP exhaust? Mine had a squeak/chirp. I noticed it more at low RPM's and figured it out it was when the values in the exhaust were opening and closing. I know when I finally reported it to the dealer there was a TSB to lube the valves but that didn't work and they replaced the NPP exhaust system under warranty. Took me a while to figure out where it was coming from.

Mine is a Non-z51 without the NPP exhaust so it can't be that. I notice it sometimes when I take off from a stop with very little gas as well. Really sounds like it's coming from the driver's side of the engine compartment or underneath the car.
Hate to revive an old post, but did you figure out where the noise is coming from? My started developing the same issue. Noise happens when I let of throttle under lower speeds.

Did any of you figure out what it is? Mine is coming from driver side almost from front tire screeching/squeaking noise slowly at 0-10mph and slowly up hills

did your sound like a light screech/squeak almost coming from the driver side. Almost right underneath your or under the driver side tire. Sounds like it could be a break or something but when I slowly tap my breaks at any time even backing out in reverse they dontt squeel or make the noise im hearing. For the npp exhaust valves can pulling the fuse to keep them open 24/7 stop this problem as well so they dont move at all
Hey guys, OP here. Saw this reply come across my email.
I enjoyed my vette for over 2 years and owned many sports cars since then (2 A90 Supras, G87 M2, 2 ND Miatas). I now own a 2024 Camaro SS 6MT with the same LT1 engine found in the vette I owned.
I have been around many LT1 powered cars since I made this post, and my current Camaro, and can confirm they all make the sound I described in my original post.
I can only conclude that the sound I was hearing was normal for these engines, and I was just making a big deal over nothing. I did put about 20k very hard miles on my vette without a single hiccup. I also stopped hearing it after I installed a Corsa Extreme axle back lol.
I know this isn’t much help, but hope it may calm the nerves of some.
