Who makes the best OBD2 scanner for under $1000.
I'm looking for a simi-professional model to use on a variety of different cars.
Everyone chime in on what make and model you are using and it's cost.
I use a BlueDriver scanner every day, it's 100 bucks.
if you want something that can do actual sensor calibrations, not just scan, then I use an Autel for that. you will have to look at their website to determine which one is right for your budget.
I use a Mongoose pro. It's 500 dollars and then you have to get a subscription from GM when you use it. I think a 3 day sub is 50 or so. It works just like the gds2 that dealers use. For me it was money well spent.
I've been looking at a Autel MX808 scanner ~$700 to use on the following cars:
2017 Corvette
2019 Honda CRV
2019 Lexus UX200
2006 Ford Mustang GT
Does anyone have any experience with this scanner, good or bad?
Thanks everyone
Higgs (or whomever is up to speed on this stuff), do any of the current scanners come with PID databases for OEM PIDs? Or do you have to know them? Like if I was looking for a CAN bus signal for "Brake light on", and it's not standard across makes, do I have to know the PID or do any of these come with PID databases? And yes, I'm aware OBD2 != CAN, but I think you can surmise what I'm looking for!
