So I have a dumb question.
I got a quote of $200 bucks to have my secondary cats removed and he said it'll be louder. I think I'm gonna do it until I can afford a full exhaust but my question is what's the point of the secondary cat? Also will it be louder?

$200 is pretty high IMO. I had mine removed a while back for $75 at a muffler shop. It makes the exhaust only slightly louder.
Since Borla stopped making them there has been run on the Manzo Pipe but they will be back in stock soon.
Catless X Pipe sounds great if you pull the NPP fuse or use a mild to wild switch which will keep the NPP mufflers open . If your car is an LT1 A8 then add a range device to keep it in V8 mode all the time . Now your car will sound like it should .....awesome

Do it this way and you can always go back to stock. My stock secondary cats and old pipe are in my attic.
Don't chop up your exhaust for $200 and only get marginal sound change. Not to mention they could potentially mess up the airflow. Get a Manzo so you can swap back to stock and it will bold up to aftermarket exhausts down the road.
The Pre-Cats (upper) are the issues. Swap those with Norcall-SS testpipes and notice a difference in sound and some HP.
The mid-pipes flow really well, you'll gain nothing much.

OP will need a tune to turn off the MIL if he does this.
Looks like you are in California, be aware that you could be in a world of hurt if someone in authority finds any of the cats missing. If you are looking for sound why not just select one of the many available cat back systems and get sound you want and stay clear of authorities?
I have the Borla Catless Xpipe and love it. Sounds like pure ‘murica when you get in the throttle. If you pull the fuse it sounds like pure ‘murica all the time.
The xpipes are not hard to install and you can do it yourself. If you live in a large metro area a lot of the corvette clubs will have access to lifts/helpful members that can help you get it done. I took my time and it took me maybe 2hrs to install if that.
$200 to remove the cats is crazy. And if you get an xpipe you can go right back to stock if you need to (warranty, emissions, selling the car, etc)
