Default Differences in Ported Intake Manifolds - Why?

This came up in another thread but no one answered it, so hoping someone can shed some light. There are a handful of companies that port the stock Intake Manifolds, but some port and remove the center vacuum tube (PCV?) that goes across the front right behind the throttle body. This seems like a great idea as it definitely hinders flow, but other companies don't do it and some folks said the companies that used to remove it don't anymore. Any reason why? I'm thinking of porting my own or buying one from one of these porters and want to understand what the negatives are of removing that tube.

Pics of two port jobs from two different reputable vendors. One w/Tube one w/o.

So I can't directly answer your question but I do have a Edgy Vette ported manifold and throttle body and i have not experienced any bad effects from having the PVC tube removed .

Why don't you email "sales@edgyvette.com" ( I think this is it but check their website ) , I am sure Cajun will answer any question you might have .

You dont have to cut it flush, cut the same angle on the end thats there now, but up as high as possible. All its there for is to direct the PCV fumes and oil mist in the middle of the intake air stream soits evenly distributed. I have done my own and have thousands of miles and a couple of years of time, no negative effects what so ever.
