Default Exhaust choice? Headers and traffic?

In April I picked up a 2019 stingray non npp with an m7 to use as a daily driver spring thru fall here in NY for a 75mi commute to work 3 or 4 days a week. It's a real fun to drive car rain or shine and has a Dr Jekyll/Mr Hyde personality. Get in and drive like granny on a Sunday to go get groceries and you'd never know there are 455 horses lurking under the hood, it's so mild mannered or spin the motor past 3k rpms and do your best impersonation of Mario Andretti. Either way the car doesn't mind and does exactly what you ask. My only complaint is that it is embarrassingly quiet for all that performance so do I start with an X-pipe and axle back first and if that doesn't satisfy my acoustical need do I add headers? Or headers first with matching X-pipe and then add axle backs later on if still too quiet? I'm not worried about the warranty (I"ll probably put on around 15 - 18k miles a year) and will have the car tuned if headers are installed. My concern with headers is will I run into any cooling/overheating issues when I sit in stop and go traffic for an hour or more before the road clears up and I can get good cooling air flow? In my case would mid length headers be a better option? I'm open to all ideas, all replies appreciated (especially funny and sarcastic!)

I would start with headers and highflow cats to go with the stock non-npp mufflers and see if that does the trick for you although I suspect that it might still be on the quiet side. The trick will be to find an aftermarket axle back that isn't too loud. I'm running headers + high flow catted x-pipe with NPP mufflers and it is perfect for me because it gives me the best of both worlds since I can toggle between stealth and track modes.

As far as heat, I've had no issues with my Z51 with headers and don't suspect that you would have any issues either.

Don't drive like a grandma

The x-pipe was enough for me... but I've got the NPP system so if I want louder I put it into track mode. The nice thing about the x-pipe is no worries about a CEL popping up and it can be done on jack stands if your OK turning wrenches yourself.

If you do some research, you find that there is at least one known option where you can install long tube headers with stock tune and not get the CEL popping up.

Seems you guys think headers is the way to go, and Kooks is the preferred choice. So now let me ask primary size. As of now I'm planning to keep the car naturally aspirated but the thought has crossed my mind to throw an A&A kit on, maybe in a year or so once the car feels "slow". Would 1-7/8" work for both, NA and FI applications? And thanks for all the input guys :cheer

As others have mentioned, the headers and high flow cats will be the biggest contributor to the sound you are looking for along with a boost in power. If headers and a mid pipe are not enough, the Borla ATTAK or B And B Fusion are also great choices. The 1 7/8 will work, however if you do plan to upgrade the car later on down the road, the 2 inch option would be a better way to go from the start and still work fine until you obtain the blower.
