Default Caliper comparison info?

Sorry to beat what I'm sure is a dead, brought back to life, and now dead again horse.
Long story short is I no longer have a Corvette, now currently an 03 Mach 1, and I've been racking my brain trying to piece together a viable 4 piston/14" brake kit for it. For simplicity sake, that basis needs to be a GT500 355mm rotor which fits the factory hub nicely. I thought I had it nailed using 370Z caliper which has very similar specs to the GT500 brembo, but the spindle ear sticks out so far on 96-04 mustangs compared to any other car it's a nightmare to work around. So, it's been discovered the factory 330mm rotor is a 95% direct fit to ATS/Camaro/C7 caliper. From the research I've done it seem the Z51 front caliper is identical in all specs, only the mounting ears for the caliper are roughly 1" taller to accommodate the larger rotor and the pads have what seem to be noise dampeners. Is there any other aspect that is confirmed to be different or does anybody have side by sides? Thanks in advance everyone.

Can't confirm but I've done a lot of digging on regarding various C7 brake threads (track life yo!) and my research indicates the same.

I ran the 370Z / G37 Sport Akebono calipers on my older 350Z (with an adapter) and can tell you the C7's calipers are much better. The Nissan units use a super small cotter pin to hold the main sliding pins in place. Finding that tiny hole in the darkness of the wheel well caused me hours of frustration over the years Where as the C7's pins just tap in and stay put using built-in split ring style washer agreement... OMG so much easier when doing pad swaps.

Thanks man. The mustang spindles are an absolute pain due to the mounting ears for the calipers, and the fact it actually came with good size brakes optional OEM brakes. The one tab sticks out so far it makes using any other caliper almost impossible. The GT500 rotor I have to use to get things as close to factory offset as possible, but the caliper has different mounting bolt spacing and the bridge between them makes it impossible. Which is when I ran across the funky looking brackets you mentioned for the various Nissan spindles to use the Akebonos and thought having one like that made might be the answer, that way I could align the caliper to the rotor via the bracket. I thought I might get lucky with the Akebonos because they have such an extreme arch and just slot over the ear but as you can see, no such luck. I'm going to mill the spindle ear down this week and see just how close I can get. The ATS/Camaro/C7 brembo however, mounts right to the spindle and fits factory 13" rotors. Only mods are bore the spindle ears out to match the GM bolts and mill a little bit on the mounting tabs of the caliper. That's when I started thinking if they fit, perhaps the Z51 calipers would be the easiest solution out there. At this point, I'm getting migraines from researching every single 355-370 rotor and 4 piston caliper imaginable...

Bump. Tried finding some decent photos that showed the different height and depth of both calipers but no luck. Anybody have side-by-sides if they did the conversion?
