Default X-pipe and down pipes

So, I’m about to purchase the Borla catless x-pipe (model #60547) and AFE catless connection pipes (I’m pretty sure they can be called down pipes too). That should get rid of all four cats, but I’m curious to know if anyone else has this setup. If so, could you post a video of it? I’m sure it’ll sound very aggressive, but I would like to get an idea on what it would be like compared to stock. I’m possibly going to be putting the AFE Power Pro 5R CAI on as well. Any insight on what you guys think this will sounds like and do
for my car would be great. Thank you!

#1) The Borla 60457 is no longer manufactured
#2) Technically speaking, down pipes are referencing the exhaust pipe exiting the hot side of a turbo charger. So no, I wouldn't call them down pipes.

I know it’s no longer manufactured, I found one brand new from a guy that was gonna put it on, but decided to do a full
build himself and never put them on.

1) tuning required.
2) insanely obnoxiously loud. Otherwise tone is very similar to stock, just sounds uncorked.

Tuning required once the intake goes on correct?

I saw that thread, but I thought those were the high flow cat pipes? I won’t be having any cats. I also wasn’t sure if someone had a video of the same set up.

So you will have some what louder car with a stinky exhaust. Pulling the cats won't add that much power.

I know it won’t be adding much more power if any at all, just interested to see how it sounds. Plus I’m hoping it's loud.

I have this exact setup on my Z06. No tune needed unless you're going to use a program to turn the CEL lights off. I just used the big daddies 90* sims. As for the intake, I'm not sure if the LT1 requires a tune. I don't see why you would need a tune for either the exhaust or intake on a LT1. I'm sure a tune would get the most out of the setup, but I don't see it being a requirement. On the LT4, I'm personally not comfortable putting an intake on without a tune.
I don't know about the sound difference between the LT1 and LT4 with this exhaust setup. It's definitely louder, but IMO not crazy loud. My friends say its really loud when I get on it, but I can't hear it because I'm in the car. I've actually been thinking about adding an axle-back. The nice part is when you put it in stealth mode its really quiet. I don't know if I want to lose that option.

Thank you! That’s exactly what I’ve been wondering. I don’t foresee a tune being needed, at least not right away anyway. As for the sound, would you happen to have any clips? I was hoping and think that the NPP system could be kept with the setup which is what I was hoping for.

No tune required for the mods being discussed in this thread. Downpipes, X-pipes, and AFE intakes are all safe for the stock tune.

Thanks Kracka, I figured as much. I mean pretty basic things, I’m sure though they would probably benefit from a tune.

Definitely, something to keep in your back pocket for down the road. You will definitely want Big Daddies Garage angled o2 sensor spacers to prevent a CEL.
