Need opinions on first Corvette
Hey guys,
I'm looking to buy my first Corvette, a C7. I've done quite a bit of research and fell in love during the test drive. I'm looking to get at least a 2LT with the Z51 package ideally. This will be my daily driver; my commute to work is 3-4 times a week, 15 miles round trip. I live in South Orange County. Ideally, I'd like a stock car.
What price range should I be bargaining for?
What kind of mileage should I be aiming for?
Should I prioritize an A8 over higher trim options?
How will maintenance be as I start to rack up mileage on the car?

when I was shopping used I used the following for price - 1 year old 30% off MSRP, 2 year old 35-40 percent off 3 to 4 years old 50 percent. I went with a 2018 4,000 mile z51 CPO for 30% of MSRP.
I went with manual -some folk have complained of a shudder with the A8 and I found it shifted very slow when using paddles - manual with the perf gearing I found great and the rev match is a blast
maintenance - not bad for a sports car. if you go CPO first two oil changes are free. Not much else is due except brake flush and tires...tires will be expensive...2,000 or so every 15,0000.

I highly recommend getting the mag-ride and performance exhaust options.
If you search here you'll see problems reported with the A8 transmission... but daily driving in southern Cali? then an automatic starts to sound like a good idea.

When buying used I just look for something with low mile, garage kept, all original paint, preferably one owner, trouble free history and below market value. I don’t get picky about color and options, I look for the deal. I start with a real low offer and go from there.
