Default ARH Mid length sound

Who has first hand experience with the ARH mid length headers particularly how they sound. I want headers more for the sound than the performance. I have a borla catless x pipe and stock npp. Ive searched the forum and you tube videos but its so hard to tell. Thanks in advance!

I have them and they sounded great with two hi-flow cats and the stock x-pipe with NPP. I swapped the x-pipe with a Akra Titan x-pipe and did a muffler mod and now it sounds amazing.

I cut them open removed 80-90% of the fiberglass packing, and covered 60% of the holes in the pipe that goes straight through.
Here's a video someone has on youtube.

I had a similar set up did arh mids with corsa x pipe, stock npp sounded pretty cool def worth the $$$. I eventually added a lt4 supercharger with corsa extremes and i got rid of the hi flow cats and now its pretty dam loud. But my trunk is completely gutted so i get a little extra sound compared to a trunk with all the carpet in it.

At idle there will be little to no change if you have stock npp muffs on. but wot the headers will be noticed instantly. Installation wise me and a few friends did the headers in a few hours its a very simple install on jackstands.

I have first had experience with ARH mids. I had Catted ARH mids, catless Borla X pipe, and Borla S-type NPP. At full throttle it was deafening loud, like every cop could hear me for 10 miles. Normal driving in Sport/Track was still pretty loud but not crazy. Tour mode was about as loud as a bone stock C7 in Track mode.

Basically Long Tubes wont be much louder than mids. Most of the volume increase actually comes from removing the OEM primary cats and replacing with hi flow cats or none at all.

Oh yeah, I did mine a little different, I actually covered 60% of the 4 holes instead of covering 2 of the holes. This way the exhaust flows evenly through the 4 holes.

Thanks for all the feedback. I like the muffler mod idea. Im thinking about not being a cheap a** and just going full length headers and cam package. That should give me the sound Im looking for. Decisions, decisions....

I like the sound of the stock mufflers, they're a keeper for me. I have long tubes and ported heads i'm going to install in November. I put the Mid length on 3 years ago, for MV inspection and warranty purposes.

I have mid-length headers shipping from ARH any day now (hopefully -- It's been 12 business days since order) -- I'll add as much feedback as I can following install. I'll be running stock NPP with catless X pipe with ARH mids.

A Cam will make the car even louder than a non cam with headers. So with Full long tubes and a cam it will be insanely loud.

You'll love them! But I have to ask, are you DIY or having a shop install? I wrestled with both and finally went with a shop and I helped do the install and it still took 8hrs for two of us. Very tight working area. Anyway a few items to consider as well...
1) Stage 8 Locking Header Bolts... you do not want to have to re tighten loosening bolts because you wont be able to get to them!
2 Header Coating , I went with JetHot but there are several out there who are good, just to keep engine bay temps down.
3) Header Wire Plug Wraps (heat protection for spark wires...

Up to you I am just throwing out some additional items I decided to add... which means I had to sit and stare at my headers in the garage for a few extra weeks till i'd gathered it all.

Good Luck!

I have clips with Just stock, then a Borla X-Pipe and then with X-Pipe and ARH Mid lengths... However, the stock / xpipe video is just in my Garage, but I switch between Stealth and Track modes... the ARH and X-Pipe are on the Dyno.

BUT I also warn you that the Iphone Mic does no justice here.

Stock -

Borla X-Pipe -

Borla X-Pipe and ARH Mid-Lengths with Hif Flow CATs -

and now with the Borla ATAKs The Mic is hanging down by the exhaust tips -

Good Luck,

Dave

Might be a few days before install though. Not expecting too much of a challenge but going to wait for a helper for install.
