Default Ride height/wedge for Road Racing

For the guys who like to track/race their cars. What do you like to set ride height to? I have played around with a couple different settings and seem to prefer close to factory ride height for ultimate handling.

Also, do you find it important to stick with the large difference in tire diameter? A smaller delta between the front and rear doesn't seem to affect it too heavily, but I know some people swear by keeping it at factory delta.

The tire diameter difference used to be a big deal on C5 and C6, but C7s are much more tolerant. I tried various staggered sizes from small to quite large, and they all worked fine. I even went with same diameter front/rear on my Z51, and even though TC was a bit active in touring mode, etc., it was perfectly fine in track mode at the track. I hope this helps.

When tire diameter varies from the factory ratio Traction Control differences are probably the most noticeable to the driver. With too small of a rear diameter compared to the front TC will prematurely activate. ABS won't be as noticeable since the driver rarely gets uses ABS and may not be able to perceive differences in ABS actions. Tire diameter differences might cause the system to initiate differently than with stock diameters but it is a complicated process. What probably affects ABS more is differences in tire tread compounds that affect grip along with differences in diameter. If we are running sticky tires I suspect we need ABS calibrations set for the tire grip level to get the best performance out of our ABS. Stability control will be affected in a different manner. The direction steering wheel is turned and how well the car responds to that steering direction is what determines when stability control activates, where it activates and how hard it activates. Different compound and diameter tires probably affect how much the car responds to brake applications at individual wheels to change the car's yaw to match the steering wheel input.

I look at the difference between front and rear as a ratio where the rear tires are 1.039 times larger (1.04) in diameter than the front tires. On the C5/C6/C7 you can pretty much get along fine as long as you don't go more than 4% above or below that ratio but individual EBCMs may be more sensitive than others since you are starting to approach the edge of the design range. If you keep within 2% you won't have a problem at all.

If you are on factory leafs close to factory is ideal. You won't see enough advantage from the lower center of gravity to negate the loss of travel.
