Currently running MT 325/35/18 R's on Forgeline 18" x 12" rear wheels.
Want to switch to a MT S/S and have 2 choices - 305/35/18 or 345/35/18.
Does anyone have first hand knowledge regarding any clearance issues with the 345/35/18's?
The 305/35/18 are overall smaller than the 325/35/18 and not sure I want to loose tread width, etc.
The MT 345/35/18 are significantly taller than the OE run flats. Michelin OE 26.6 vs M/T 345/35/18 @ 27.8.
My concern is them knocking my gear back and killing my 60'.
The MT R's hook just fine, but, I'd like to run the ET/SS because they offer a bit more tread on the street. We drive to/from the track and getting caught in the rain with the R's and your screwed!
My exact same setup had rubbing on inner fender liner. This was lowered on stock bolts, and under hard acceleration/track conditions I've since raised the car back up, but i will be ditching these tires for the R or Hoosier tire.
The 325/30/18 ET Street R is much closer to the stock diameter tire, and they will out hook the S/S tire by a good bit.
Your **** will slow down on the 345/35/18s big time. They are over an inch taller. Over 28.25” I believe. It’ll kill your gearing. Unless you make stupid power.
I just went to 345/35/18 MT ET Street S/S on my 2016 C7Z with stock front tires and my care did not like. Engine ran rough, service rear axle came on, and my traction control light came on. I was told that since the MT are 1" taller than the stock rears that it throws the computer off and causes these issue. I was told I have to run a front tire that is within a 1/2 overall diameter of the MT. Anyone else have this issue?
I run 345/35 R18 MT s/s on the rear, Pilot Super Sport (non-RF) 275/35 R18 on the front, stock heights, on Forgeline 12.5's (rear) & 9.5's front from Gerry at CWFL. No rubbing, codes, or any issue. My speedometer seems to be off about 2MPH at highway speed as near as I can tell. I have not compensated for any tire size change in the tune. If the front and rear are too far off, that will cause an ABS/traction error. This setup is fine.
Look at the overall diameter MT shows in their technicalc specs
I run Hoosier A7 315/30 18 front and 345/35 18 rear for AutoX and it runs fine. But the hoosier A7 345/35 18 have exactly the same diameter has OEM tires.
