I'm in the middle of installing Z51 shocks on my base suspension C7 and I ran into a problem. The lower mount of the front shock is apparently not at the correct angle. If you look at the picture, the shock on the left side is the new Z51 shock and the other two are the left and right shocks that came out of the car. Notice that the left and right shocks that came out of the car are the same and that their lower mounts are at the same angle. On the new Z51 shock, the lower mount is at at different angle. I tried twisting it on a vise but it is spring loaded and returns back to the same angle.
Any suggestions? Should I return the shock and ask for a new one? Thanks in advance for your help!
Mihail
Left shock in the picture is the new one and the lower mount is at the wrong angle.
It's in the rubber bushing you just have to twist it more and it should move. I've never tried it on one of those shocks but that's how it works with others.
