My 2017 will not start I have tried everything doors, windows and trunk do not work unless I put the key in the steering column. radio plays all the time info system comes on for a short period then goes blank does anyone have any ideas of whats going on PLEASE HELP
Had to have it towed to Chevy dealership. they tested battery yesterday afternoon and said battery was good now they want to do diagnostic testing they tried to blame me for trying to jump start the car which I did not do because battery was tested under a load. This is really weird sometimes the doors work then they will not work strange **** happening. Got it to turn on by using remote start but it then wouldnt let me put in gear. turned it off then it wouldn't start again. has anyone ever had this happen to them
Sounds like some sort of electrical gremlin. Are there mice where you park her? Maybe the harness got chewed? Check grounds, check terminals and battery connections, finally check the alternator. Alternators can cause some weird **** to happen if they are going bad.
The C7 is notorious for having battery's test loaded good but they are in fact bad. I suppose you are under warranty and will have the dealer diagnose further but a new quality (non OEM AGM) battery is cheap insurance.
well its Carl Black Chevy and they are trying to blame me for shorting out the BCM which is BS and I would have to pay for the replacement. Do you know how I can personally contact the Chevy warranty department to see if the indeed tried to make a warranty claim and how to dispute the claim. appreciate all your help
sounds also like a key fob issue. i have had that situation if i for get my key or if my fob was dead then it also would power up for a few then shut off. after getting a new battery in my fob it never came back
I believe he said the car started with the FOB in the steering column and that means the FOB is fine. The battery might be bad but he says he got 3.0v reading so sounds ok.
BCM is the communication between the car and the FOB. IF the car battery is ok, then the BCM might be the culprit.
have not a franken idea how the BCM shorted out. the only thing I did to the car was to check the battery. typical Chevrolet Bull Sh__not wanting to own up to a defective part on warranty. Wish I knew who is the rep in the area.
well update on my car. they replaced the BCM and then all sorts of other codes showed up. now they say the car must have been struck by lightning and other computer parts need to be replaced. they told me to call my insurance company to cover the repairs. **** the nightmare continues.
