I have a problem getting my 2017 Stingray started. I pull the car out of the garage to have window shield replace (safelight) after they finished I went to put the car back in the garage and it would not turn over. I thought maybe the battery went dead because they kept the door open but I had the battery checked and it was good. I contacted Chevy road assistance to see what they could do. They sent a wrecker out he got into the car and saw weird things going on. He was originally going to try to jump start the car but he would not do this because of all the weird things going on doors would not open windows would not go up and car would not turn on not even the dead battery click. I was told by roadside to have it towed to Carl Black Chevy. They tried to tell me it was my fault because I jumped the car which I did not do. They said the BCM was bad. and Chevrolet would not cover that I told them again I did not jump the car several times. The service manager said he would try to have it covered after 3 days he said they would. So they put in a new BCM now it came up with numerous codes (which I do not know what they are). Now they said my car must have been struck by lightning. BS I can not say for sure that was what happened. They said to call my insurance company to have them cover the repairs. My insurance company said they did not see a entry or exit from lightning. Now they said they would have to get a specialist to look at the car. Is there ever been anything that you know of that would have caused all my problems I personally think I am being jerked around by the dealership. Please let me know what your opinion is I need help.

Sorry to hear, truly. Now, did you actually watch the glass people swap yours out? Of course, your problem could have just happened at the same time as them "working" on it, but that would be HIGHLY unlikely. I have to wonder what they may have shorted-out in the process that caused your problem. But, yes, with no proof of any such issue, the dealer IS... nicely putting it... "jerking you around!" Best of luck.
Maybe it's the dreaded "frayed wire in the mirror harness".
My thoughts exactly. After that previous long running post where they couldn't get a new car started I'm wondering if the glass company pinched a wire causing a short in the overhead panel.
The car doesn't need to be actually struck by lightning to suffer lightning damage. Just being very near a lightning strike that is channeling thousands of amps from the ground to the clouds could generate a large voltage surge in the car's electrical system sufficient to damage electronic modules. If more than one module has failed it is likely some sort of voltage surge caused the issue. Typically jump starting a car doesn't do that although alternators have been damaged due to high current flows depending on where the jumper cables are attached.
Hard to tell from your description of events how many things were wrong in the car. The determination of what is wrong is made by the mechanic. If the mechanic decides to do a warranty repair on something that eventually turns out not to be the result of a manufacturing or design defect GM can reject the warranty claim leaving the dealership holding the bag for the cost of the repair.
well folks finally got my car back according to dealership car was struck by lightning frying computers I dont believe it but what could I do. The insurance cover some expenses just wanted my damn car back

Woof!
Ok, you win the 2019 WTF happened to my car award! A lightning stike zapped most all of your electronics and it happened in your driveway? Did you hear the loudest crack of lightning/thunder in your life during the time the work was being done on your car. If not, color me skeptical.
As long as you have the car back and running, I'd sing a happy tune and go on without really trying to figure out how the hell this happened.
I agree no pun intended they just used a bunch of smoke and mirrors on not knowing what hell they were doing. they will never get any of my business ever ever again.I am just so glad to get my baby back.
