I have a 17 GS. With the cold bearing down on the northeast I’m getting ready to winterize. Oil changed and full tank of gas. Is fuel stabilizer safe to use in the newer engine?
It's perfectly safe to use, but not really necessary with modern premium fuels (assuming you use a quality TopTier brand). I still use it in my lawn equipment with carbs, but don't bother on the 'Vette. I have a heated garage though; my father uses it in his C6 since it goes into cold storage.
I've used Stabil in all gas that has to last through winter for many years. This includes my C7.
It's recommended for the C7 to keep only a quarter of a tank of fuel for long term storage. This is to prevent fuel level sensor problems. Many will comment that they keep a full tank with no problems. It's an expensive repair if you need it - your choice!
I've stored dozens of sportscars (mostly Corvettes) for months over the winter and have never added fuel stabilizer and never had an issue.
Do connect batteries to battery tender.

i usually drive my vettes for a run during the winter months conditions allowing, then re fuel. The 17 has summer tires only so it’s not very safe to do that.
