Default Re-Wire rev match paddle for 2step?

I was thinking about installing a momentary switch on the (Brushed bezel) left hand side of the steering wheel, between airbag and cruise control buttons for 2 step. then i thought, what about wire it to the rev match paddle (car is 7spd). Not certain if the paddles operate as independent switches. Has anyone done anything like this? or perhaps installed a small momentary push button on the steering wheel?

What is 2step?

I have modified the wiring for the rev match circuit, such that rev match automatically turns on when the car is started -- A member on here (Steve) pointed me to the correct wiring to tap into the rev match circuit -- so it could probably be done. The wiring for the paddles is under the passenger carpet in the footwell.

That would be cool to tap into the wiring under the passenger carpet. will need to find out if the left paddle is separate switch from the right paddle. so I could engage rev match with right paddle and 2step with left paddle.

2step gives a temp rev limiter by cutting fuel or spark. ex. can set the max rpm at 3k and when the 2step device is enabled, you can mash the gas all the way down and only go to 3k. This is to help with consistent launches and not having to search for the right pedal depth/rpm each time.

I have Lingenfelters 2-Step installed in my M7.Its activated by a rocker switch hidden by my right knee and works great. Just flip the switch on when I want to use the 2-Step/NLS and turn it off when I don't need it to engage.

I don't know if its possibly to wire it to the paddles, might be possible, just don't know anyone who's done it.

The paddle switches are mechanically separate, but they are wired in parallel. Once the wiring harness leaves the steering wheel, they are both on the same wire. There is only one wire at the BCM (under the passenger kick panel) for both paddle switches. You would have to disassemble the steering wheel and column to electronically separate the paddle switches.

I'm going to be testing the Camaro steering wheel button from motion raceworks on my car this week for that exact reason. It looks like it's going to work but I'll update either way!
