Can someone please answer me this for clarification. 2015 c7 stingray z51 with 36000 miles. If my transmission is under power train warranty and i take it to the dealer for what i think there is a problem. If it only needs a software update to correct the transmission. Question, why should i pay for the software update if the transmission physically is ok and needed an update to correct an issue in the first place. I think that should fall within the warranty. Because without a software the transmission wont function effective. Im so pissed off at GM.

Did you read the power train warranty to see what is covered and what isn't? It it isn't covered the dealer can't officially do anything about it, however, if they feel magnanimous toward you they may cover the repair. Same goes for GM, some times they approve Goodwill Warranty coverage for a repair that doesn't meet all of the warranty criteria.

You need to take this up with the dealer. Since you haven't yet (apparently), you don't know what they'll say or do. All the best.

So an update on my vette, torque tube was bad and was replaced per warranty and now the transmission issue has been addressed as throwing code. Suppose to be a main wiring harness for the transmission in which connected with the temperature sending unit.
Doesnt make sense to me but its under warranty as well. My main upset issue is that the part is on backorder. Since its under warranty i had to leave the vette at the dealer until fixed.
