How would a LT1/A8 GS run with a ported OEM intake manifold, LT5 Soler TB and catless X-pipe?? Would it have to much flow an cause a Cel? Also add a high flow filter.

No CEL , I ran a similar combination with a Borla catless x pipe, EDGYVETTE ported manifold and ported throttle body along with a Vararam . The throttle body will add zero HP After you install drive it easy for 50 miles to let the fuel trims equalize . As far as performance, solid high 11 seconds with a 3000 DA and temps in the nineties all season long . This was on factory runcraps and using launch control

LT5 throttle body would likely cause an issue. With a ported LT1 TB you'd have no problems.

Good catch , I did not see that

OP why would you try and run a LT 5 throttle body on a LT 1 ??
Even if it fits , and I am not sure it does , there is a absolutely no power gain to be had on a stock motor by putting a bigger throttle body on it

Back in the old days guys would put an 850 CFM Holley on a stock BIG BlOCK chev and think that was great ... when all it did was ruin the drivibality and the "gas wash" would remove any Iubrication off of the cylinder walls which would cause scoring....

Even though it only meters air , stick with the Solar LT1 ported throttle body

Hi Oldblue, with the LT5 TB you need to be willing to tune. There are stories of many folks running them w/o a tune, but another equal number having problems w/o a tune.

Thanks,

Ok thanks guys I already have the LT1 Soler PTB just looking to make it better without a tune and true aftermarket parts rather keep it as OEM looking as possible. An not necessarily looking for power just for it to run and breath better.

Go with the EDGYVETTE ported manifold, with the core return it's the cheapest way to add 20 HP to an LT1 plus it looks stock and requires no tune

LT5 TB on an LT1 or LT4 requires a tune. Those who say they do not, has never looked at a datalog before.
