Default Fan is always on when driving

Took my 2014 vette on highway for a "run." The fan was on when stopped...got back in 10 minutes later and fan immediately turned on...again left it for an hr and same thing happened. Coolantt is okay...any ideas?

if your AC is on "low" for your side or the passenger side it will always stay on...

Being a 2014 have you changed to the new "Z06" replacement fan... If not after long trips over 40 to 50 miles without stopping it will not turn on after you stop and overheat...

This sounds like it is an engine fan not an AC fan. Am I correct?

If so, it sounds normal to me. 2014's have a very aggressive fan that runs very loudly and more often than folks would expect. As long as coolant temps are OK, I wouldn't worry.

I actually met a fellow forum member to see if his fan was unusual, because of this exact issue, and it was normal.

Yes..engine fan. Weird thing is, have never heard it before...and why would it start as soon as in drive???? Engine was not hot. I read that it could wear down battery!!!

I don't recall hearing about this problem before. I have not experienced it on my 2014 Stingray but this has me wondering if it is a matter of when and not if it will happen? I have a year and a half left on the extended warranty so if it is destined to occur I hope it is before the end of it.

Took to dealership...said it was b/c needed to change coolant/fluids etc every 5 years..that being said my battery did last 5 years!!! I usually trade vettes every 1-2 years but finances did has not let me...looking for 2019 3LT w/Z51 package. What do you think of 2020 vettes?

I did, to the one that said would never go back..."nightmare" but was closest. Water leak. They gave me free alignment but will never make up for their lack of...so many things, but was afraid to drive to the dealership I wanted to use b/c about 20 miles away.
