Looking for opinions as to cause for this kind of tire "wear." (or destruction) Fronts. One followed the other, this did not happen on same day/event.

One of my rear Cup 2s delaminated like that in that area of the tread. Looked like somebody took a razor blade and literally stripped the rubber off that section. The tires had 3 track days and about 3000 street miles on them. I think it was because I didn't lower the cold pressure to 26 psi. I had been using a well used set of R compounds that corded during the first half day of the 3 day event so I switched over to the Cup 2s that were on the trailer. By the end of the third day I saw that section of tread was literally peeled off the tire. Dealer said they wouldn't cover it at first even though only one tire did it. Then the Service Manager ( the one that everybody in the shop works for) came out and looked at the tires and said he would do a complementary replacement of both tires because I was such a good Customer.
