Default Best headers + advice welcomed :)

the car is a 2015 z51 automatic

I’m looking to get some headers and x pipe. I was looking at the kooks but I was curious if anyone has experienced any hiccups installing them or driving with them. I absolutely hate exhaust vibration at low rpm and the last time I installed off road x pipes, there was no hole for the second set o2 sensors so it was throwing matrix amount of codes at me when I started it up. But that was on a C5. Any tips before I buy and get started?

From what I've read if you don't want it to throw codes you either need a tune or you need to use the ARH catted mid length headers

And the same thing will be true on the C7.

Rear O2's are removed and the fronts are extended.

Only reason for 2 O2 sensors on each side is to measure pre and post cat. Without cat's there is no need for the second sensor.

You need to get a tune to turn off the codes.

Our 1 3/4"-1 7/8" perform really well on the LT1 platform. The 1 7/8" will give a better dyno number but the stepped header will give you more low end torque/power that you'll feel more often in street driving. As mentioned before, if you are not looking to have tuning done then your only option are ARH mid length.

We usually recommend Kooks or Stainless Works if you want a premium set of long tubes. If you order on our site with code VETTE you should get the best price around.
If you're looking for some lower cost options the Texas Speed headers and even the Speed Engineering headers fit pretty decent but I'm pretty sure they don't come with bungs for the rear o2s.

Actually the Hooker shorty headers work just fine and the simply replace the factory manifolds. The hook back up to your cat downpipe. Zero codes and they're lighter by 22 lbs on the z06 and I believe 17 on the z51 but I didn't have a set of z51 manifolds to weigh. The Hookers weigh 6.625 lbs each.

I have ARH 2" long tubes. I went with them after discussing my goals with a local shop. Kooks sounded a bit to raspy for me..

If you're not doing a tune, then I'd consider AWE xpipe before they are gone (discontinued)

Complete Street Performance is coming out with a new line of headers. Maybe wait to see how they perform.

And do yourself a favor and get a set of GM OEM gaskets.

That said, Juiced1 does have some of the best prices around.
