Default Digital in-driving mode vs information setting

Battery readout in digital display in driving mode different than in info setting. 14.8v to 15 in digital display and 12.8v to 13.5 in info setting. Why the discrepancy?

What to you mean digital Vs info displays? Any readout in digits is digital. Do you mean Tour Display Vs some other display?

Bill, I mean the analog gages when you left arrow and go into performance. The battery voltage is different on the analog gage than the digital (which I finally figured out thanks to your instructions) on the dic.

The engine information gauges get their information on a digital data link that comes from the BCM. The ECM sends the digital data to the BCM which then sends it to the IP. The data line is a bidirectional link. The digital display will always be the more accurate display since it only needs to display the digital data in a format recognizable to a human. The analog display requires converting the digital data to analog in some version of a digital to analog converter circuit which provides an analog voltage representing the battery voltage. That voltage is used to move a needle on an analog display.

The difference in battery voltage can also be caused by the regulator changing the alternator output voltage to maintain the charge on a battery. For example a fully charged battery may produce a battery voltage level of 12.8 V whereas a partially discharged battery may produce a battery voltage level of 14 V right after the engine is started. If you are switching between one display and another you may have caught the variance in voltage level as the regulator changes it. Just driving around town I have seen my battery voltage swing from 12.8 to 14.2 to 13.8 and then back to 12.8 a few minutes later.
