Default Z06 Tires

I need to replace the tires on my 2015 Z06. It came with Michelin Pilot Sports. These are a Street/Track tire. I want a good Street tire as I do not Track this car. Anyone suggest other options? Michelin has an AS 3 Plus ZP available. has anyone tried it? I also see Bridgestone & Continental have tires. I'd appreciate any feedback.

I've been running the AS3's on my '19 Z since June of last year. I've got around 9,000 miles on them and no complaints. My Z came with the Cup 2's and they were crap in anything but perfect weather. The AS3's aren't as grippy as the Cup 2's but they are more consistent during inclement weather.

Same here....
They are a little quieter and much better in the rain and light snow
Less expensive also.

I put them (AS3 plus) on my '19 Z06 as soon as I got it and sold the takeoffs. I had previously had them on a 911 too and they were such good tires I didn't want to have anything else on the Z. I don't track the car and use it for fun drives and trips, and want to be able to use it no matter how wet or cool the weather is. They really are a perfect tire for real world fun driving with these cars.

The AS3 plus is tough to beat on the street. I’ve had mine since June of last year and love them. Traction is great and no worries about cold temps or getting caught in the rain. A bonus is they don’t throw every pebble on to your car like the summer tires.

As3's on the street. I have 2 sets of cups, 1 set of super sports, and 1 set of As3's. The As3's are best for the street. Cups are best for the track. Supersports for wet track days. You have to use your brain with any of these tires. If you stab the throttle with the As'3's you're going to break the tires loose. If you are smooth with them they hold pretty well. If you drive the cup 2's in the rain you're gonna bust your a** if you're not careful. A z06 is a high performance car and it's not kind to fools.

The gravel is a good mention! Huge improvement! We have a 200 yd long gravel driveway and often drive a chip seal road. The AS3's really cut down on the flying gravel!

How do the AS3+ hook up in the summer compared to the OEM MPSS on a Z06?

Poorly.

One is trading off warm weather performance for cold weather traction. For many this trade-off is worth it. They also find the tires quieter and, being a harder compound, they last longer.

How well any tire locks up is also a function of driver skill. Shocking the drive train with sudden, sharp throttle will break any tire loose. One must smoothy apply throttle, even when going to WOT.

I have two sets depending on usage but we never have "winter" weather. For the street I have Continental Extreme Contacts and am amazed on how well the car rides yet still gives pretty good handling. They're less expensive than the Michelins but are not run flats if that is important to you. If you have to pick one type and drive your Z06 with any kind of enthusiasm I would stay with summer tires and drive the other car when the weather is not particularly suited for 650 HP sports cars.

Where are you located? I have 2017. I took the wheel and tires off at less then 1500 miles and put drag radials on it. Was thinking about selling the stock tires.

A/S 3's (and other Michelin's for that matter) consistently finish at the top of TireRack's Road/Track comparison tests. Nice.

I drive my car pretty hard on the AS3’s when the weather is good and they perform very well. That said, I don’t floor it in a corner in 2nd or 3rd gear either. They wouldn’t be great for tracking your car but for anything reasonable on the street they’re a pretty great tire.
