Muffler insulation?
Has anyone tried insulating the rear of the mufflers to reduce the heat transfer to the rear diff?

Never heard of this; you *might* want to cool the diff for open tracking the car hard, but otherwise you're probably not going to heat it up enough to worry about it..

When I installed my Borla s-type axle backs, I wrapped most of the length of each the over-axle pipes with DEI titanium exhaust wrap.

Ive used that on my CBR600RR to keep the exhaust from searing my right boot at the track. Works really well.

Yes, know about wrapping the pipes, already done with DEI, and other heat blockers.
Not doing any heavy tracking right now - of course everything is shutdown.
I don't have any guesstimate if insulating the back face of the mufflers would help much, but it couldn't hurt.
I will go ahead and do it the next time it's up on the lift.
