Default Truetrac

Has anyone installed a truetrac themselves on their C7? Have my differential taken apart and don't want to deal with the shipping. Want to know what is involved to see if I can install it myself or if a local shop can do it rather than shipping it.

thanks in advance

What do you get out of installing a TrueTrac over the stock eLSD that provides better cornering grip and acceleration?

broke the spider gears on my stock elsd. Truetrac eliminates the spider gears which seem to be the weak link. I am about to add a cam, converter and increase nitrous. From what I’ve read Truetrac is the way to go when increasing power.

If you like you can do are put into your rear end 4 spider gears a number of guys have done this now plus it is cheaper also. If I had it to do over I would have done this and kept the elsd in my car. Robert

I had a TruTrac in a mustang w/ the old 8.8 axle. NEVER again. It worked great autocrossing. Really great. But it had a ton of driveline slop so normal driving w/ slight on/off throttle movement gave a clunk every time the gas pedal moved. Then after about 5 years, I started getting some other noise. Turned out that the spider gears that the axles engage into were worn on the outer surfaces. Or maybe the housing had worn. Who knows, but I hooked up a video camera looking into the diff while I grabbed the tire and moved it around as if checking for a loose bearing or ball joint and the camera showed that spider gear moving inside the housing. I thought no big deal, just order some new spider gears. Uh, TruTrac doesn't sell internal parts for their diff. I trashed the TruTrac.
