Default Cold air intake

I've added a VaraRam cold air intake to my last three corvettes and have been very satisfied with the results. Very obvious as far as response. So what about the C7"s???
VaraRam is almost if not a forced air or ram air induction for the C6's but the configuration on the C7"s is different....anybody have any input on what brand or product will produce some positive results?

Halltech w/ Green Filter is what we've had the best results with.

A Vararam on a C6 is not a forced air induction, this fact was measured many times in the C6 forums by some knowledgeable members,

The purpose of any CAI is to keep the ECM from pulling timming by allowing the engine to pull in ambient cooler air which the C6 Vararam did rather well

I to question the C7 design also but I do all my mods one at a time an measure the results extensively and I can tell you that the Vararam was worth .2 in the quarter mile for me with no other changes .

Is it the Vararam , is it the filter , is it the better designed intake tube .. who knows ? , all I know is the increase was real for me

Plus you just can't beat that intake sound with the air box being open , sounds like the old big blocks back in the day

Halltech or AEM is the way to go if you don't want to tune and even if you do. GM Performance Intake is great if you plan to tune.

The C6 cars had the over the radiator style intake set ups. With the radiator vent on the C7 that's not possible. So we see the standard fender style intakes.

The new Vararam is a decent piece. If anyone is local to us and wants to do a before/after dyno pull we'd be glad to accommodate you.

Juiced just like the other CAI I don't think you will see any gain from a LT1 CAI on a dyno where the car is sitting still . And even on the blower motor it more of a gain because they are filter choked...

I would like to see some IAT/temp/timing numbers in real time doing a street/Track run

I believe your right on the dyno...no real gain unless your moving. That's where I got my best results with the three VaraRam systems I had.Very noticeable at 35 mph and above...just as VaraRam states. Anyone use the Holley iNTECH? I liked the simplicity, clean look and easy hook up they offer. I'm a fan of Holley products anyway so I thought I'd give them a try. Thanks for all the input....

I have the Holley intech intake and I am overall happy with it. However, I had a hell of a time getting the filter to seal properly in the box that bolts to the side of the engine compartment. They definitely could have come up with a better design for that piece.

Has anyone tried to make a forward facing 12" long louvre in the shroud? Just cutting an opening the size of a business envelope on three sides & pushing it down (like a Vette Air.) Cost $0 to get ambient air. Minimal risk to hydro lock.

I like the Attack Blue replacement filter the best. Tried a couple of big name brand Intakes and either poor fit or poor performance.

After a lot of research, I went with an Attack Blue filter in the stock housing, coupled that with a Solar Performance Throttle Body and matching Electronic Speed controller, love how it all works together!!
