I'm putting them on this week and I'm running an event this weekend I've run them on the track a lot. The street drive them, I should drive my ST43s quite a lot on the Corvette. They don't make any noise on that car but they do want others. I'll let you know what the DS1. 11s do on the street.
But I don't understand why everybody wants to run straight to the general masses especially when they know I'm actually doing something and then I mentioned by name. Just ask.

More options than any other single company out there. More parts than any other single company I know: Brakes to Safety, Wheels to Exhaust. Suspension to Air Filters: Girodisc, Hawk, Raybestos, Essex Racing/AP, Ferodo, Wilwood, Penske, Koni, Borg Motorsport, Ridetech, Viking, After Dark Speed, Hotchkis, Bilstein, KW, Forgestar, BC Forged, Forgeline, MRR Wheels and on, and on, and on it goes.
Sam, I really value your opinion, and respect your suggestions/recommendations.
But I don't think there is any harm in asking for any more experience with these pads.
Let me put it to you this way. There is a lot of harm in it at times. Because people's opinions are usually based off of very little broad experience. It is always been a situation where people take what they read on the internet and run with it. It has gotten probably On the order of 50% worse over the last three weeks or a month. It's pretty clear people are bored and they spend a lot of time doing research, or at least what they think is research. That pretty much means they spend time reading things that people write on the internet.
sure you can ask a lot of opinions but you know the adage the opinions are like buttholes, everybody has one. Some of them are very valid. Some of them are not.
I have run the pads before but typically only in a track setting. And even at that until I get a little more time on them I am going to refrain from saying anything recommending them for street use. In fact I bedded them last night. They didn't do anything nasty to the rotors over about 45 mi. They stopped like a freight train when they were warm. When they weren't they stopped okay but not phenomenal. But it took one stop to get them there. The ST43 doesn't have that problem. So now it's a matter of which one behaves better overall in this sort of use.
Additionally, you are the one who mentioned me. So that caught your attention enough to go query a bunch of other people based on the fact that I have a set. That's why I find it odd that you didn't just ask me. Is that understandable? I don't think that's a really crazy thought.
I've run the DS 1.11 on track extensively and they are a great pad for road course work. They will squeal on the street once you wear the transfer layer off. If you are looking for a good autox/street pad I'd look at the DS2500. I was using the 2500 as street pads with my AP Racing setup and even used them at VIR in a pinch.
DS1.11 pads came with my C7 that was previously a track car -- when driven on the street, the squealing was unbearable. I switched to EBC yellow and am very satisfied. Couldn't tell you if they throw much dust, as my wheels are black.
On my non-corvette race cars, I've run Ferodo, Pagid, Raybestors, PF, Mintex, stock (they caught fire! :-)) and some other pads on the track. I'd say that for autocross, you're gonna want something a lot closer to a street pad, than to a track pad. The EBC yellows are very nice pads.
