Non-AFM Muffler w/ Range AFM Unit?

Been readIng your posts about range AFM units while researching a 2017/GS/LT2/A8 exhaust or muffler delete. 1. Do I need an AFM exhaust (cheaper w/o) if I purchase a range unit also... 2. Is this possible w/o HP tune.

On start up the car initializes the afm valves, the car needs to see this to not throw codes, the range unit has no effect on this procedure. If you replace the exhaust with a non npp unit, leave the servos connected and just tie them up out of the way. Otherwise it will have to be tuned out. Either one of those should keep the car from throwing codes. It’s probably just easiest to purchase a correct aftermarket exhaust than having to do the work around, in my opinion.
