Default Question on lug nut sizes

I’ll be putting wheel spacers on my Z this weekend and I ordered et spline drive lug nuts to make up for the lost thread of the spacer. However I got the nuts today and they looked really thin, I took a caliper to them and the acorn bulge measures 19.8 mm compared to 20.3mm of the stock lug nut. Not a big difference, but wondering if this is acceptable with the stock wheels? Any help is appreciated.

If you want a slightly beefier lug, use either McGard part number 64031 (black) or part no 64002 (chrome). These lugs measure 20.64mm (13/16 inch). This will getter done.

Thanks but those aren’t ET. Don’t necessarily want beefier lug nuts, just wanted to make sure the slightly narrower spline lug nuts would be sufficient.

Oh, so you're locked in to ET brand. Don't they carry 13/16" hex? That will give you the 20.3 mm you want. McGard manufacturers some nice looking spline drive lugs as well.

You need an Extended Thread Lug Nut VS an ET Brand lug nut. This is what you should be using:

The nut in the above picture has a .3 inch thread extension with the acorn wheel fitting. They will go through the wheel and be even with the inside surface of the wheel. They will not stick out past the wheel on the inside. A .25 inch extension is good as well. Check Gorilla lug nuts and what is available on eBay. I use the above nuts with my track wheels when I run spacers.

What you don't want is an extended thread nut like the one on the bottom. It's extended thread section actually goes all the way through the wheel and sticks out the back. You can torque these down to 1000 ft lbs and the wheel will still wobble since extended part of the nut is too long.
