Default Injector question

As I have posted my 2016 is in under warranty to replace all 8 injectors. (They are back ordered). I noted a supporting vendor here that lists them available July 6. GM # 12668397. Searching the GM site there is no corresponding number, There are two for the ZO6 #12703611 Nominal and #12703613 Low Flow. Why are two listed for the ZO6. I am a novice on Fuel injectors, but it would seem that no one would want a "Low Flow" .???? It even costs more??? Why two different ones, anyone out there school me before I open my mouth to the dealer. Thanks

Default Different Part Number for Injectors

I have my 2019 in for warranty repair now. Two injectors are showing faulty and the dealer says there none available with the part number 12687709. Anyone know where I can find two with this part number? Must be gm to keep the warranty intact.

Default Waiting on 8

i also have my Z in . Had codes PO300 and PO50D. They are replacing all 8 under warranty. Now, I can't find your Part number anywhere on GM's parts list. They list 3 types, Low flow, Nominal flow and High Flow. All of them on their site have about 4 or 5 other part numbers that this particular one replaces. Dealer here said the High flow injectors were my replacement. I looked it up on GM the number is #12703612, , replacing #12661031, #12668655, #12672374, and #12686277. This has been on the confusing side of my world. So far no word on when they will be available. There is a vendor here, Fuel Injector Connection that lists GDI Stock Replacement #12668397, available July 6th. which he says replaces the #12703612, (GM High Flow number). I have inquired and he said as it is under warranty he doubts GM would contact him. I'm sure none of this helps, just letting you know, you have company.

Default Injectors

Maybe we should ask our dealer to contact GM and ask them to authorize aftermarket replacement injectors as they, GM, seem unable or unwilling to obtain replacement original injectors. I prefer not to wait weeks or possibly months for a warranty repair.

My dealer tells me they might be able to replace my faulty GM injectors with aftermarket injectors if I ask in writing. They also said if approved the aftermarket injectors would not affect the warranty. Hopefully I will know next week. I just can’t believe GM can’t provide parts for warranty repairs. Still haven’t found aftermarket injectors that will cross over to the GM part number 12687709. Can’t find anyone that even knows this part number exists. Anyone know if this injector is in the GM parts system?

Car is still at the dealers waiting on 8. I have tried to research your part number and I can't find it anywhere on the GM site. The common part number is GM#12703612. The service manager will be back after his vacation on Tuesday. I will inquire as to what part numbers for my replacement they are asking for. i will take a copy of your number and dealer suggestion to submit in writing the request for after market replacements. On the GM number I listed, the Fuel Injector Connection gives GDI STOCK REPLACEMENT (PN:12668397), and they will be shipping on July 6th ($89.00) each.

any updates on your and my dilemma with injectors? I may have found a few with my part number. Hopefully it will pan out soon or it will be time for a C8.

What was the root of you issues?
I had 2 injectors leaking fuel into my car, took them apart today and took them to an injector cleaning place in Houston Tx.
out of all 8 none of them were even close in flow numbers, 2 were worse than the others, 1 had to be replaced.

Also to note apparently these injectors are on back order but some dealerships actually have them sitting on the shelf.

So how do you know you need new injectors? Changing spark plugs yesterday on my 900whp Z and 2 of them were soaked with fuel after not driving it for 24hrs...

Default Dealer

Found two codes PO300 and PO50D and said they wanted to replace 8 injectors. It has extended warranty and GM rep. came in and OK'e the work. That's where I'm at, parked at the dealership.

Default Injector Update

Just got back from the Dealer. Wanted to take the car home and store it there but was told it is in the Warranty contract that it has to remain there as driving it might end up with more problems for Gm to fix. OK, so I asked them to disconnect the negative side of the battery as it is sitting in the same spot for the past two weeks. They agreed to do so, don't mind reprogramming but would be pissy to have to buy a new battery also as I do use the trickle charger. Now, I assumed the part number was #12703612, which the GM site lists as the High flow injector for the ZO6. The part number that my dealer gave me is #12679527. needing 8. This has been very confusing to say the least. My dealer says that they have waited over a month in some cases for parts to become available. I intend to look for the part using this number, but would sincerely LOVE to VENT. If someone knows places that might understand my dark thoughts, please post and I'll for sure make contact. Thanks.....

Default Dealer has new number

Went to dealer and looked at injectors that were now out. Black, sooty, (replacing all 8), have gone back and forth over the part number that should be ordered. Now, they say they have contacted GM and for the ZO6 Supercharged it is #12710479 Looking it up it does say Injector without the picture. I have been assured by the dealer that GM says this is the correct replacement. They say that they believe GM will be shipping very soon. That was the only good news. as I am still very confused after looking on the GM site at injector part numbers and finding several for ZO6. Anybody out there ever have anything close to this???

Best bet is always pulling your current injector and matching that number. Mine were nominal flow in my '17Z. You can run High Flow it won't hurt and yes it's very confusing. Just my advice.

You can simply get 8 that match, seems to be 12 different injector part numbers. I've lost 2 of the OEM injectors in the last week. My car currently has 4 of one part number and 2 new injectors which are sperate part numbers. HP tuners logs look exactly the same, no CEL.

Default I liked the 60's

Was a heck of a lot easier wrenching, anyway I posted with a ZO6 Injector question and got a reply from Bill Dearborn. After pulling my injectors and contacting GM under warranty the part number GM said was #12710479. Now, that is on the GM site as "an Injector". Bill said that GM traces individual cars based on Vin numbers and it is called "Configuration Management". .The dang things are still on Back order, I guess I have to trust the "System".

You do that, I had 3 different dealerships run my vin and give me different injector numbers.
