Default 2014 steering column tilt control

Apologies in advance if there is stuff out there already. Did a search and didn’t find anything. I have a 2014 convertible. The tilt control for the steering column works but the telescope feature does nothing in either direction. Any thoughts?

There are separate motors for tilt and telescope. Both are powered from a common fuse, so if tilt works the fuse is good. The switches feed into a control module, so nothing is simple. The module gets feedback from position sensors in the steering column.

So - could be the connector, telescope switch, telescope position sensors, ground, and least likely the control module or other electronics.

If you have 2/3LT the tilt and telescope may be saved different between memory settings and exit. See if the memory buttons will make the wheel move - if so, this points you to the manual tilt / tele switch and wiring.

This may help:

The steering column has a tilt/telescoping control system that consists of an steering column position
control module capable of serial data communication, a steering column power assembly with
positioning motors and sensors, and a steering column tilt and telescope switch. The steering column
position control module will wake up either by the serial data or by the steering column tilt and
telescope switch.
Two position sensors are hall effect sensors and are used by the steering column position control
module. The steering column position control module provides a 5 V reference voltage and a ground
to both the tilt and telescoping position sensors. The sensor feedback circuit voltage varies from 0-5
V. Each sensor is part of the motor assembly. The steering column position control module monitors
the feedback voltage to determine the column position.
All DTCs and data from steering column position control module is communicated through the serial
data and stored in the seat memory control module.

I have a 2014 3lt convertible and my tilt motor went out. You can take the knee bolster down then everything is visible. Check connections and tap the motor with a screw driver or other tool. When mine was tapped the tilt started working again. l had the motor replaced anyway since it was covered by GMEPP. good luck!

Thanks guys. It’s a 3lt...will check the motor idea like you suggested.

What was the final result of this problem. My telescoping function quit working.

Dealer replaced motor and all is well. Didn't look too difficult but I had a warranty so I didn't tackle it myself. Otherwise I would have>
