So my car is setup for e85/93 mix (e50) and it is terrible to try and start. I bought the car tuned how it is. I'm thinking I need to take it to my local tuner to try and fix. Cold starts are rough but even harder are warm starts. I will have to let it crank like 3 cycles of 5 seconds at a time to try to get it to fire up. Once the car is warm it drives perfect... thoughts?
Sounds like the tuning is all out of whack. Use a very well known tuner for these cars! Mine is remote tuned from Crawford Racing on flex fuel and it runs great and starts up fine every time.
I wished I lived closer to Cordes Performance or Late Model Racecraft so I had to settle for email tuning.

That's exactly my thought as well. I am tempted to hop on and try adjusting the cranking fuel tables but I'm not sure that's a good idea lol
The first thing I would do is eliminate the fuel rail prime as the issue. Around 80% or 90% of the vehicles I tune with hard start issues are due to the fuel draining back to the tank when it sits, and being hot often exacerbates the issue for some reason. \
Before cranking, prime the fuel system several times (key on/off like 4 times until you hear the air push out of the fuel pump into the tank for example).
You could also just trip the fuel pump relay manually instead of key on and off so many times, let it circulate fuel for a while, then try to start.
IF it still has an issue, the next step after fully prime is to give it some air (open the throttle body / step on the gas pedal) to see if its just injecting too much fuel.
between those two tests you will know whether its too much fuel, or too little
When I step on the gas it seems to help... also I could smell raw fuel last time prior to starting. Also it made a plume out the exhaust once upon fire up
If adding air helps then it sounds like too much fuel. Reduce starting injector pulse until it fires up without throttle input. Or increase park IAC/throttle position. Or both
