Default Suggestions please

I just bought a 2014 z51 with 60,000 miles, I don’t know a ton about cars or mods for them so I was hoping someone here could help me. Is there anything I need to buy for it (cold air intake, etc.) and what mods are worth buying, I want a supercharger but I’ll probably wait to buy one because they’re expensive, so should I get a cold air intake or anything else like that. Also I’ve thought about getting exhaust cutouts, are they a good idea or not, the option to make my car louder at the flip of a switch sounded awesome to me.

Right off the bat an x-pipe will make it sound better. If it has the NPP exhaust you already have an exhaust that will sound different depending on the drive modes. The NA cars don't really benefit from CAI so save your money. Maybe just put in a high flow air filter and a different throttle body.

Mods should be based on what your doing with the car: drag racing, auto cross, track days? Or just cruising? Some do mods just for the enjoyment or they like the looks. The car is plenty fast as is so it doesn't "need" anything... its all personal preference.

As far as I know I’ll just cruise in it

A good exhaust will definitely net you a few more SPGs (smiles per gallon) . Cutouts are one option, or there are a few brands, including us, that offer kits that keep the factory active exhaust functionality. If we can answer any questions, feel free to PM or call us at 1-800-990-0905!

So - IMHO - do some basic maintenance on it (fluids & filters) - maybe get the alignment checked and then drive the car some... If you attend a few car shows - spend some time around other C7's and see what others have done to them. Talk to C7 owners and see what they think about their car and what mods they have done....

Honestly IMHO the C4's, C5's, C6's & C7's are phenomenally capable cars that most owners will never approach the handling limits on. Mods to these cars need to be based on what you're looking to do with the car, and what compromises you think the factory could have done a better job on.
