I am currently putting down about 1000 whp and had a set of Toyo R888R’s on and got 1900 miles out of them and the cords are showing. This was a great tire and hooked up for the most part but I really need more than 1900 miles. I know I lose traction at the expense of mileage. What would you guys recommend for a compromise? Looked at the 4S but reviews say they have less traction than the MPSS. OH, 2017 Z06.
I know they won't last like an all season tire, but that's surprisingly low mileage for street use; have you been doing burnouts (perhaps doing drag racing, and doing burnouts regularly)? Did you check your alignment? Too much toe can kill tires very quickly. Perhaps reducing the toe on front/rear might help substantially. Very aggressive camber also increases wear, but not as much as toe, as far as I understand.
No burn outs but a couple good street pulls for my tuner. They had the back end lowered to get the new pumps in so alignment could be off. Wear is even and straight across on both tires, probably toe.
Ok now that makes sense. There's a certain "toe curve" of rear suspension as it compresses, and if they lowered it without getting it aligned, you probably have quite a bit of static toe. So, to some it up, the recommendation is: get re-aligned and give R888Rs another chance : )
I put on a set of MPSS and after 100 miles they were almost shot. Stood behind the car and looked at the tires and the toe was out as far as you could get, I was dragging the tires down the road. I will go back to the Toyo 888’s. You would think when you disassemble the rear end of a car you would want to do an alignment, these *** hats said no, not really necessary but wouldn’t hurt.

Wow that's crazy hopefully everything works out for yea and when you see those guys kick them in the dick.
