Default Bad o2 sensor?

I have a 2016 m7 z06 with minor bolt-on mods on the stock tune (CAI, ported throttle body, NX billet lid and catless x-pipe). The o2 sensor recently came loose somehow and check engine light came on. After tightening it back down, I am getting severe hesitation at moderate load around 1,500 to 2,000 RPM. It doesn't do this at light load or if I hit it hard from a dig and keep the tachometer up above 2-3k RPM. It seems to be very dependent on load and RPM. The check engine light isn't on anymore either. Could this be the o2 sensor on its way out?

You should check your car with an OBD2 scanner. In addition to reporting CEL light codes it will tell you if you have any pending codes. If something like an O2 sensor is throwing some bad readings but not totally failed it will show up as a pending code and the light won't come on until some threshold is met. Having said that, failure of an o2 sensor is pretty rare, especially in such a new car.

Thanks for the feedback. It ended up being a loose plug wire. I was stuck on the o2 sensor because it rattled loose somehow and the check engine light had been on, so i assumed it was damaged.
