Default Converting carbon ceramic brakes.

I am trying to help my Brother convert his Z07 carbon brakes to steel. His carbon rotors are worn out at 15,000 miles due to his tracking the car. I've found Girodisc rotors and pads to swap out. My question is will standard GS calipers and rotors work as well? Thanks

I know I'm not answering your question, but 15,000 miles on CCB with tracking? I just hit 8000 miles and am on my 3rd set of CCB rotors!

From what I know, you don't have to change the calipers, you can go to Girodisc with just new rotors and pads.

2 options:
Just change rotors and pads. Calipers can stay. Girodisc is the only supplier of iron rotors of that size of z07 brakes. I think. Pad sizes will then be :
front: same as oem iron z06, gs, Camaro SS, size 1405.
Rear: the base/z51 front pad size fits the rear of oem-ccb cars after changing rotor to iron. I can't remember the number for this pad shape.

Or

Swap to smaller iron oem gs/ z06 setup by changing calipers, rotors, pads and possibly master cylinder depending if you don't like the feel of the brake pedal after swapping hardware.

Yeah, 15K is impossible if the car was tracked, properly

GO with Girodisc and Pagid SL1 pads. Don't look back, I didn't! CCB are 100% salesman BS, there is zero advantage on the track. Almost ALL racecars use iron, and it isn't the price.

I see this is an older thread but yes I agree the conversion is the way to go.

Send us a DM for a CF Forum Package deal if you have a Z07 you would like to convert.
