I have the z07 package and my car still sat high with the stock bolts lowered, so I swapped them for the afe bolts. I’ve taken the car into the canyons twice since and have been pretty aggressive, I began hearing various ‘dunks’ and ‘thumps’ and it looks like the nylon/rubber footing of the Front driver side lowering bolt has slid off? Not sure, but it appears to not be under the bolt. See pic—not the clearest. Car drives and feels normal, only at very slow speeds do I hear any noise.
I’m not too familiar with how the suspension works on this car, or what purpose these bolts have other than keeping the leaf spring in its place, but I’m curious if I can still drive with the footing apparently gone. I likely won’t be able to have my suspension shop look at it for a week or 2. Any advice is appreciated.
You can also trim your stock lowering bolts. I trim only the rear which gave it a better stance on my z07. I had it align and its been a year now with no issues.

My car was one of those freak z07’s where it was lowered all the way in stock bolts from factory and was still silly high. Cutting the stock bolts wouldn’t of achieved the drop I was looking, and with the way these bolts sit, an articulating bolt is a better design. Guess the quality wasn’t there. I also drove the ***** out of it on a very technical canyon.
Unfortunately the aftermarket bolts are not a fix for corvettes, known to have numerous issues. I cut my z07 lowering bolts (1 rib front, 2 rear) and it’s pretty low but wish it would go slightly lower in the rear. To go lower you have to use the spindles or convert to coilovers.
It was just not designed for infinite adjustment from GM. Aftermarket parts are the only viable option. Sorry 'bout that. C7's are "factory racers" in GM's imagination.
